COVID benchmark data for Maricopa County, as well as the areas the majority of Horizon Honors Schools students reside, is trending in a positive direction. If the trends continue, the Horizon Honors Schools campus will reopen to in-person classes pending School Board approval at the September 4th School Board Meeting. Horizon Honors will also offer Remote Learning through at least the end of the Second Quarter.

Beginning September 14, the Horizon Honors Campus re-opening plan will occur in three phases:

Monday, September 14th: Secondary School students in Grades 7-12 may return to campus, following the full-day school schedule. Secondary School students who choose to return to campus on October 7 or choose Remote Learning through December 18 will begin Remote Learning on September 14 following the full-day school schedule.

Monday, September 21st: Elementary School students in Grades K-6 may return to campus, following the first quarter modified school day schedule, with dismissal at noon. Elementary School students who choose to return to campus on October 7 or choose Remote Learning through December 18 will begin Remote Learning on September 21 following the first quarter modified school day schedule.

Wednesday, October 7th: All Horizon Honors students in Grades K-12 may return to campus, following the full-day school schedules. Secondary students enrolled in this Learning Choice will be in Remote Learning from September 14-25. Elementary students enrolled in this Learning Choice will be in Remote Learning from September 21-25.

This phased plan follows CDC guidelines and will allow staff to monitor and adjust mitigation strategies while students acclimate to new routines and procedures.
